Simply download everything below and go to Winterboard to activate the three themes and you should be good to go. All the other tweaks should work by default but you can, for example, adjust the DeepEnd sensitivity inside the settings applications.

Ever looking for a router that can provide WiFi at up to 1.3 Gbps data rate? Then the new Apple AirPort Extreme is for you. Today at WWDC 2013 Apple showed off the changes they made to their wireless base station. With three-stream 802.11ac technology, the AirPort Extreme Base Station takes WiFi speeds over the top and it means that the AirPort Extreme transmits at both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies at the same time. So no matter which band your wireless devices use, they’ll automatically connect to the best available band for the fastest possible performance. The new vertical design not only improves WiFi speeds, but also saves you desk space. Its’ footprint of AirPort Extreme is 64 percent smaller than the previous model. AirPort Extreme also includes three Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, an easy utility for configuration and the ease of use to setup wireless printing.

With all the Mac related posts today now it is time for iOS to have some recognition. Apple today showed off iOS 7 which changes the way people will use the iDevices. Most of theses changes have already been possible with jailbreak tweaks but Apple seems to want to detour people away from jail breaking them by giving them the features in iOS 7.

From the lock screen alone we can that Apple has revamped the UI of iOS 7. We can see they removed the slider from the slide to unlock as well as a new transparency effect that is found throughout the operating system. There is also a “flat” redesign throughout the operating system. Also, Apple introduced the Control Center similar to SBSettings where users can easily toggle their WiFi and other features on the device. Multitasking has been changed to a more webOS style approach and it sorts your apps by the apps you used most often and makes sure they are up-to-date once you resume them. Siri now has a new interface with a new male voice. AirDrop, Apple’s file exchange system, has been added so users can transfer files across their devices. The Camera app now has built-in features to compete with the app store camera applications. Finally we see Apple integrate its new radio service to iOS. We hope to get hold of the beta as soon as we can get our hands on it and expect a video coming soon.

We now know the name of the next release of OS X and that is OS X Mavericks. Coming this fall Mac OS 10.9 comes with new features that help fix issues from 10.8 as well as add more features from the iOS Platform.

Shown above, Apple has brought Maps to OS X. Also from iOS they brought over iBooks. After that we see Tabs being added to Finder , improved Notifications, and newer versions of both Calendar and Safari. Apple has also added better utilization of people with multiple displays when using full screen applications. When saving files you can now add Tags so that you can better organize and find your saved files. A really interesting featured Apple has thrown in is the iCloud Keychain where saved passwords and other personal info. Some users may be scared to upload their information to iCloud but have no fear since Apple uses AES 256-bit encryption so your information is secure. 10.9 is due out for release this fall and videos will be up in the coming months to show off all the new features.

Today we have seen a lot so far when it comes to Apple’s hardware changes in 2013. For one, the long awaited redesign of the Mac Pro was showed off today.

This new Mac Pro is based on the latest hardware standards today. In fact it is 2x faster than the previous Mac Pro. It features dual AMD GPUs, the Intel Xeon E5 chipset, on-board flash storage, a new cooling system and more. The case is a black cylindrical design and has a vast range of new IO ranging from USB 3 to Thunderbolt 2. What is also great is that it is assembled here inside the United States which is another plus.

Other than that we will find out more upon its release later next year. If you wish to check out Apple’s way of showing of their new desktop click here to see the Mac Pro page on Apple’s Website.

Semi-Restore by developer @coolstarorg is an application for your computer that allows you to “Semi-Restore” your device. This means that you can clear the data on your iOS device running iOS 5.0 – 6.1.2 while still preserving your jailbreak and Cydia.

Screenshot of the OS X Application

We were recently able to use the Beta version of the OS X version of the application and it seemed to do just what it was supposed to do on an iPhone 4th Generation running iOS 6. The cool thing about the whole process is that there is no need for SHSH blobs and its as simple as one click to erase the device and make it run like new again.

The current status of Semi-Restore is that CoolStar is porting the app over to Windows and once that is complete we can expect a pubic release. To follow the development of Semi-Restore follow @coolstarorg on Twitter and visit http://semi-restore.com.

Please be aware that this process can not and does not repair broken system files!

Velox, a widely anticipated and hyped tweak was released almost two weeks ago and my opinion of the tweak has already changed greatly. I was one of those who were excited to see an upcoming revolutionary concept come to life. Velox enables users to access quick functions to certain apps, check notifications, and much more, all directly from the home screen.

Originally, I thought this would change the way we would use iOS, allowing us to perform a quick swipe down to reveal the camera, weather, notes, reminders, phone calls, settings toggles, and much more, however, it turns out that, although it is beautifully designed and the idea is innovative, it is very redundant with other iOS features. The essential question to Velox is “Why not just open the app or check notification center?” And that is a very good question.

Few apps actually have extended Velox support and currently, only a handful are available on Cydia. Every other app that does not support Velox has a notification center folder that will display recent notifications. For the notification to appear in Velox, it must also have the capability to appear in Notification Center, which means only Push notifications are supported and apps like the App Store do not work just right with the folder. Also, tweaks like FolderEnhancer and Infinifolders currently conflict with Velox and, although might somewhat work, can be buggy and glitchy.

Functions such as the weather folder are available in the Notification Center weather widget and the settings toggles can be replaced with NCSettings, SBSettings, BatteryDoctorPro, or even Auxo, which has toggles that look almost identical. For apps that open “mini” versions of themselves (Camera, Safari, Twitter, etc.) really do not open much faster than the app itself. Additionally, when you close the Velox folder, it resets and your state is not saved which is an annoyance.

The Quick Reply feature can be somewhat useful but I do not prefer it because it does not provide you with a place to read the received message fully and does not work on the lock screen.

Velox is very interesting as it seems to be a wonderful tweak with many features, however they are not very useful features. All functionality within the Velox tweak can be found built into iOS in other places or configured with free tweaks on Cydia. I was one of the people who purchased Velox as soon as it was available but I have come to the decision that it really isn’t worth purchasing at this point. Hopefully we will see updates that can really benefit the user in the future.

What do you think?

Piano Passcode will replace the lock screen passcode keypad with a small piano to use instead. Each key makes a distinctive sound, like you would expect from a piano.

The preferences consist of a panel to change the passcode, enable or disable the tweak, secure mode settings, which enables compatibility with other tweaks, as well as a respring button. According to the dev, it is recommended to respring whenever any passcode settings are changed, whether that be Piano Passcode settings or iOS passcode settings. It is also recommended to disable iOS built in passcode, even though it will work, it will add a small ‘x’ to bypass the piano.

It can be a little hard to set a song because you are configuring it with a string of numbers rather than piano sounds, which is why we included a list of songs below (you can listen to them in the video).

Piano Passcode is available on TheBigBoss repo for $0.99.

Ryan Petrich, a notable iOS tweak develper has released his take on Sentry’s camera grabber concept. Grabby, is free to download on his beta repo at rpetri.ch/repo.

Instead of the lock screen featuring a single grabber for the camera, Grabby provides multiple grabbers for additional commonly used applications without compromising the native iOS look and feel. It works by allowing you to touch the camera slider and move your finger to the left of the bottom bar. This will reveal more grabbers, taking the place of the slider while touched. Once you slide your finger over the app of your choice, slide up like you do on the standard camera grabber, and the lock screen will slide up like a curtain revealing the app. In more recent versions of the app, you can choose from one to five grabbers to be displayed and change the icons, in conjunction to changing what apps can be launched.

Since the beginning of the company, Apple Inc. has been a leading trendsetter in the technology industry and in 2013, many expect big things from the technology giant.

For the past couple of years, Apple has dedicated its Worldwide Developers Conference to introducing new lineups of Mac computers. Many analysts are confident that this year we will be seeing upgraded versions to its MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro desktops at WWDC 2013. The fruit company is predicted to discontinue the non-Retina MacBook Pro line leaving only the latest, likely upgraded, Retina MacBook Pro variant which currently tends to be slightly more expensive. In addition to the Pro notebooks, it is expected to see an updated MacBook Air. The one-of-a-kind ultrabook may yet again see a reduction in thickness and possibly a Retina display, however this is not completely clear. Some analysts say that adding such a screen to a computer as thin as the Air is still too difficult. Included in these notebooks will likely be the next-generation Intel Haswell chips and updated discrete graphics processing units in the MacBook Pros.

There are also leads that Apple will be announcing an upgraded Mac Pro desktop this June at WWDC. The Mac Pro has been getting dusty over the past three years since its last major upgrade and a lot of the pro users are really looking forward to a new full tower Mac. Apple is already unable to sell their Mac Pro system in any European stores due to new safety standards and because these standards require key components to be altered, it is extremely likely that we will see some design changes as well as an internal component overhaul.

Possibly at WWDC or at the usual September event it is rumored that the iPhone will follow its predecessors with the iPhone 5S. This new variant of the iPhone line will likely feature the same design as the current iPhone 5 with internal speed improvements. It has also been said that Apple might decide to include different screen size options as well as provide a selection of colors to chose from for the aluminum body, similar to the iPod Touch.

Sometime in the second half of this year, it is very possible that the iPad mini will be given a speed bump, and a Retina display to go along with the iPad with Retina display. In conjunction, the technology company has been said to be updating the full size iPad to match the design aesthetics of the iPad mini with the black anodized back and thinner bezels.

As always, with every major iDevice release, we see a new version of iOS. iOS 7 is rumored to bring improvements across the board. Jonathan Ive’s has acquired the role of software design in addition to his already prominent hardware design history. Included in this release of iOS, expected are notification user interface changes, a new multitasking application manager, and a large jump away from skeuomorphism.

In addition to expected upgrades to existing products, there have been rumors circulating around about never before seen concepts from Apple Inc. Not many of the predictions are clear yet but the discussed products are a new Apple TV, streaming radio built into iTunes, as well as a watch device. The TV is said to be internet based and stream all of its content. The streaming radio, possibly a pandora competitor, will be integrated into iTunes and iOS devices and be able to select songs similar to your taste via Genius integration. The “iWatch” is expected to be a watch device that will be able to display notifications, music controls, and integrate with running applications on an iOS device. The year 2013 will surely be an exciting one for Apple and its user base.

The Vector is the latest high end drive from OCZ that features a brand new Indilinx controller designed completely under the control of the manufacturers themselves. OCZ happens to market this drive to PC enthusiasts that want to include an extremely fast storage device that is very reliable.

The box is essentially the same as the Vertex 4′s box we opened up a couple months ago. Enclosed inside is the “I “heart” my SSD” sticker, the instructions, the drive itself, mounting screws, and the 2.5 to 3.5 drive bay adapter. This is where you can mount the SSD if your case does not support 2.5 inch drives. The OCZ Vector is the first SSD on the market to feature an in house designed controller. With 550MB/s and 100k IOPS, the Vector drive will unleash true performance. More coverage will be added later in the week.

Current iOS multitasking is pretty much the same as it was when it was originally released back in 2010. It’s nice to see some change and increased functionality while retaining the classy Apple-esque style. With a Jailbreak and the amazing tweak developers, drastically improving the way multitasking works is very easy. Simply installing two tweaks, Auxo and Zephyr, will bring a whole new experience to multitasking.

Zephyr by Chpwn will cost you $4.99 but is definitely worth it. Zephyr will integrate seamless gestures for multitasking into iOS. The animations and responsiveness is extremely fluid. Horizontal swipes from the left and right bezels will switch between open apps and a swipe up fron the bottom bezel will close the current application. Holding the app after a short slide up will evoke the app switcher, and a slide up from the home screen will also open the app switcher. There are other options to configure to disable in certain apps and to disable certain parts of the screen. Zephyr really makes multitasking much more dynamic and pleasurable to use.

Auxo is where it all lives. You can purchase this tweak for $1.99 from A3Tweaks. Auxo revamps the app switcher by adding a new preview icon layout, new media controls, and handy toggles with a brightness slider. You close apps by swiping them down off the screen and can kill all running apps by holding on to an app “card” and waiting for the prompt. Auxo is truly a beautiful extension for the multitasking switcher.

Zephyr and Auxo work amazingly together and sometimes feel as though they were both developed with that purpose. My workflow on my phone has seen a large speed increase navigating from one app to another. These tweaks definitely deserve to be added to the essential Cydia packages list for anyone who is serious about multitasking and is well worth the price.

AirFloat, an application that was previously removed by Apple in the App Store, made it’s appearance on Cydia last night. Although there has been a few ways to get similar functionality, which I have covered awhile ago, there was many flaws and instability problems. AirFloat simplifies the setup needed to enable AirPlay streaming to an iOS device.

AirFloat is a very useful tweak that can be used to take advantage of older or extra iOS devices by turning them into AirPlay base stations, converting any audio platform into a networked streaming device. Although AirFloat does not support video, it is very good at streaming audio. I have not experienced any lag over the network and the quality is excellent.

I have filmed a complete overview and demo of the application AirFloat. I think it deserves to be added to my list of essential jailbreak apps.
