In iOS 5 Apple implements Twitter integration deep into the OS. In the new iPhone 4S however, Siri is not as friendly with the social networks. If you ask Siri to Update Twitter or Update Facebook it kindly says, “I am sorry I can not do that”. Thats what she thinks though.

We have found the fix for this though. After messing around with Siri, here is a quick simple tutorial on how to be able to Update your Facebook and/or Twitter status from Siri without having to type a single letter. All it takes is 3 simple steps.

Step 1: Set up Twitter – To get started with Twitter all you have to do is text “Start” to 40404. (This is for the U.S. only. If you are not in the U.S. find your country’s short code here and text start to that) Once you do that you will be asked for your username and password. When you complete that process, add a new contact and put it as the short code (40404) in the phone part and name it Twitter.

Step 2: Set up Facebook – Facebook is a bit different. For Facebook, text “Hello” to 32665. (This is for the U.S. only. If you are not in the U.S. find your country’s short code here and text start to that) Once you get a reply click on that link and go finish the setup process in your mobile browser. When your done with that, add the short code for Facebook the same way you did it for Twitter and name it Facebook.

Step 3: Update Facebook and/or Twitter with Siri – Now you can update Facebook and/or Twitter via Siri. All you have to do is activate Siri (hold the home button in until Siri appears) and say “Send a text to Twitter [Your status update here]” or  “Send a text to Facebook [Your status update here]”. You use it just like your sending a normal text basically. Once you confirm the message your status will be updated, hands free and with no hassle.
