Yup. Google are entering the tablet fight. But, as usual, they’ve come armed and ready… with Asus? Back at CES, Asus announced a Quad Core Tab which WAS going to market for just $249 (£169). Then it was announced that they weren’t going to release it, with no other information. Until now. It doesn’t take a genius to see that it was in fact because Google had nabbed Asus as the manufacturer of the flagship Google tablet. Interestingly enough, it will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 Kai Quad Core processor which they say, umm, does some magic wizardry thing, that lets manufacturers manufacture their device at a considerably lower price than if they used other Quad Core processors. This, I feel, is a fantastic deal that Google have nabbed.
An amazing tablet manufacturer who has already had experience with making sexy looking Quad Core Tablets, an AWESOME operating system, and quite frankly, a processor that is in its league of its own in the tablet world. I was going to buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (but then I took an arrow to the knee :p) but then I heard about this, and had a revelation (= I read about Google’s I/O conference on the 27th of June and that fact that there will/probably be a new Quad Core Android Tablet that won’t break the bank. Oh AND it’ll be running Android 4.1, aka Jelly Bean. Gosh. This just keeps on getting better and better. One more thing, it’s going to release THIS Summer! My Birthday is in July… Better start being good (: Please Google don’t screw up :/
There’s a lot of hype surrounding this tablet, but hey ho, it is Google at the end of the day. When do they ever let us down? Oh wait… Tune in here on the 27th – 29th, to live stream the conference.
I’ll update you guys with all the latest from Google I/O and hey who knows, maybe at the end of it, I’ll do an unboxing of the mystery tab.
Keep it cool, keep it tekwik. xD
Peace
